Heat recovery gets lighter

Heat recovery gets lighter – the new Aletta X

In the world of commercial and industrial ventilation, heat recovery plays a crucial role in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

To achieve high thermal efficiency, heat recovery units with narrow fin spacing and a high number of fins are used. This means using more raw materials and therefore more costly and heavier heat exchangers, as well as higher pressure drop that causes an increase in fan power consumption.

The best solution to increase the competitiveness of heat recovery units while maintaining the same performance is to optimise the shape of the plates to ensure high efficiency, low pressure drop, and lighter weight.

The context forms the basis for the new Aletta X, the cross-flow heat recovery unit designed to combine competitiveness and sustainability, the synthesis of Recuperator’s 50 years of experience.

Additionally, a lighter heat recovery unit makes installation easier, reduces transportation costs, and reduces carbon footprint throughout the product’s life cycle. In a market that is increasingly sensitive to ESG issues and system sustainability, the challenge is no longer simply to maximise efficiency, but rather to optimise the balance between performance, costs, and environmental impact.

Key features of Aletta X include:

  • Lower pressure drop: Aletta X ensures very low pressure drop even at high performance levels (ErP-compliant), therefore improving the overall efficiency of the air handling unit and reducing fan power consumption (SFPHRS).

  • Premium tightness: Thanks to its special construction, Aletta X guarantees an air leakage rate of less than 0.1%, certified at a differential pressure of 1200 Pa. It also guarantees complete water tightness for evaporative cooling applications, thanks to the additional sealing option (DC).

  • Lower carbon footprint: Aletta X is lighter than the F Series due to the self-supporting fin geometry without the typical structural ribbing. This ensures a reduction in the product’s carbon footprint throughout its entire life cycle, helping improve the environmental impact of ventilation systems.

  • Plug and play: Aletta X is fully backwards-compatible with the previous series, ensuring seamless integration and immediate benefits.

  • Integrated solutions: Aletta X is part of the CAREL portfolio of high-efficiency solutions, in which the heat recovery unit operates in synergy with tailor-made dampers, customised control logic, IAQ sensors, and indirect evaporative cooling.
