HVAC ventilation projects
From sensors through controllers to supervisory systems

In Europe not all the AHUs sold on the market are equipped with sensors and controllers. Often electronics are installed directly on site, for this reason CAREL offers a comprehensive solution for system integrators and installers to make AHUs smart, energy efficient, and interconnected.

To accurately measure temperature, humidity and CO2 inside buildings, CAREL has developed the new DP-THC series. The duct version is specifically designed to act as the AHU control probe, while the LCD wall version lets end users constantly monitor indoor air quality parameters. All the sensors are available with serial or analogue communication.

CAREL has been operating in the air handling unit market since 2020 with k.air, a pre-programmed controller, which can be configured to control a wide array of layouts. The special features of k.air include intelligent control logic for saving energy and ensuring the comfort and the health of building occupants.

The new expanding needs of AHU logic customisation, driven by the project market, has led CAREL to develop k.air Open. Like on the standard solution, no software programming experience is required to configure the controller. This product is ideal for those with no knowledge of AHU units, or who lack the time or resources to acquire it. The software can be modified according to customer requirements directly by the CAREL branch.

Local and remote monitoring are increasingly required to check unit status, schedule maintenance, and verify energy consumption. The boss supervisory family allows both local and remote monitoring through customisable web pages and the embedded MQTT protocol.

CAREL also supports AHU projects with customisable electrical panels, combining both the power supply and electronics, in accordance with system requirements and the regulations in force.
