The sails Solution for SPA & HVAC in marine applications

The Carel Group, which now also incorporates HygroMatik, offers a solution for the management of indoor air quality in marine applications, from control of the HVAC system to efficient management of humidification.

Maintenance of specific air temperature-humidity characteristics on cruise ships, cargo ships, military ships, yachts and off-shore platforms is in fact fundamental for a variety of reasons. A correct relative humidity level is important to ensure personal comfort and limit the spread and infectivity of any pathogens, as well as for the functioning of steam baths in ships where these are installed. Furthermore, it is necessary for the protection of goods and cargo that are sensitive to humidity and for preventing electrostatic discharges that may affect the operation of critical equipment.

Units installed in marine applications, however, need to meet certain specific requirements: protection against corrosion caused by salinity in the air, easy maintenance and high reliability, 690 V power supply, availability of extensive after-sales service in order to find spare parts and service anywhere in the world, at any time.

The HygroMatik Flexline humidifiers are therefore perfect for these applications. Built with a corrosion-resistant steel structure, they also come with powder coating for even greater durability. Available with power supply in a wide range of voltages between 200 and 690 V three-phase, they can be operate on tap water, softened water or even demineralised water, to avoid scale build-up. HygroMatik also offers excellent service throughout the entire product life cycle, from before-sales consulting to spare parts management. Added to all this is now the possibility to control and manage these humidifiers remotely via the Carel cloud-based tERA supervision platform, thus simplifying maintenance and minimising downtime.

The Carel c.pCO family programmable controllers represent the cutting-edge in the management of HVAC/R applications and systems, with unprecedented connectivity. The built-in Ethernet interface offers a wide range of standard protocols for local connectivity (web server, Modbus/TCP, BACnet and others) as well as “plug & play” connection to the tERA cloud platform for remote application management. All of the c.pCO family controllers are also RINA certified, to ensure correct operation in marine environments.
